Adventures in Book Signing

I survived! Thanks to everyone for your kind words of support. It was actually a lot of fun, and I did sell some books. Mostly, though, it was a chance to talk with the booksellers -- who were remarkably kind and supportive -- and to have some nice conversations with people who were interested in writing. Plus, I have pictures!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that there is a new interview with me up at Revision 14. You can read both parts here and here.

Um, you mean the picture from the interview, right? Yup, that's Daisy, and I'm probaby more hers than she is mine.

The point is poodles! I love them.

I'm glad that you had a good signing! Booksellers can be very nice people (or so I'm told) ;). Your book is still kicking butt and taking names with my romance customers, and it's a great plus sell along with all the paranormal that came out this month. Glad to hear about your new deals and that your book is coming along (even if you did stumble into the desert of despair). I can't wait to read both!

Re: Congrats
Thanks. :-) I'm still in the swamp, but I'm hoping to climb out of it by the end of the week.

I'm not Marjorie, but I am a writer. It's pretty impossible to get type casted as a writer...just take a psuedo-name, and your readers are none the wiser. ;)

I agree with the person below. :-) I don't see myself getting typecast, and if that does happen, I'll just change my name. Maybe to 'Bambi Liu' or 'Rainbow Fern.' Hahaha...

Well, they also look at your sales. If your sales record is horrible and you're trying to sign on with a new publisher, you'll probably have to change your name.

Glad to hear that the book signing went well!

That was a well-done interview; I really enjoyed your answers! I like that you're so open about the process of writing, and that you talk about it as a craft, not a great secret mystery that only the inner high priests may know.

Thanks, Mack.

I loved the book. But this comment is outside of the storyline. I'm one of those people who like to read the whole book including the acknowledgments. It mentioned a detective who is also a lawyer? What's up with that? LA is much more glamorous than Mayberry, and I'm sure Arnie Becker never had to ask for the special "over to the diner." title or description

just found your book
I had been looking around for similar books and happened to find A taste of Crimson and had to say I have loved reading this book. I had gotten hooked on this type of book and when I found this one I was pleasantly surprised at how fast I was running back to the book to keep reading. I had always been into the vamp and were books and had not tried a romance style book until I had one bought for me. After that I was hooked. Am really looking forward to getting some more. Probably wont take me long to go through since I go through a book in 2 days lol. Just wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed this one. :) Mark
